The movie I chose for this piece is the live-action Alice in Wonderland.
The painting’s storytelling begins from the top left corner, where Alice’s real world is illustrated using greens and browns. Farther down the piece, Alice's arc is represented by the large curve that extends to the Cheshire Cat’s smile who acted as a guiding spirit for Alice throughout the story.
In the middle of the arc, both the Red Queen and the White Queen are represented by the red heart shape and the light blue and light purple shapes fighting against each other.
The Red Queen hovering over the White Queen and Alice, represents her as an obstacle in Alice’s arc. The orange shapes and blue diamond-like structure represent the hatter and the caterpillar who helped Alice along the way as well, which is why they are on the White Queen’s side of the piece.
The painting contains a lot more blues and purples, accentuating the fact that Alice and everyone who’s helped her are much more powerful than the Red Queen, and eventually overtake her.
The bottom right corner of the piece contains browns, greens, as well as some blue and purple, showing that Alice took a new part of herself back home.
